Who We Are
The North Florida Office of Public Guardian, Inc., (OPG) serves adults with mental and/or physical disabilities as their court-appointed legal guardian. These persons are functionally impaired to the extent that they require protection of court intervention.
What We Do
The North Florida Office of Public Guardian, Inc., is established to:
- Provide quality guardianship services to vulnerable adults adjudicated incapacitated who have no resources to obtain a guardian otherwise, and through the provision of guardianship services, enhance quality of life, protect against abuse, neglect and exploitation, and safeguard and exercise the fundamental civil rights of the people we serve.
- To maximize and protect the well-being of those entrusted to our care through management, advocacy and responsible decision-making, and
- to ensure every person's voice is heard and each life is maximized to the fullest, even when the person can't speak for themselves.
