ReadingPals is a statewide early literacy initiative that pairs volunteer mentors with Pre-K through 3rd grade students who need a little extra support, in one-on-one or small group settings, just one hour a week.
As a ReadingPal, you are more than a volunteer. You are a mentor, a cheerleader, and a trusted friend to a child who needs one. You will spend one hour a week sharing books and conversation with a young student, helping them fall in love with reading while building the early literacy skills that will set the foundation for everything that comes next.
We are working to launch ReadingPals right here in Jackson County, and we need 50 volunteers to get started. If you have just one hour a week to give, you could be part of making this program a reality for kids in our community.
Once we reach our volunteer goal, everyone will receive training and be provided with books and materials so you have everything you need to walk in confident and ready. We take care of you so you can take care of them.
